How do I deactivate my account?

To Deactivate your account log into the support site here and submit a request under Account and Game Management > My Account > Deactivate my account while signed into the support site on the account that you want to deactivate.

Please keep in mind that deactivation does NOT release verification from an account, this can only be done through account deletion.

Deactivation rules:

  • Once your account is deactivated, it cannot be reactivated for 6 MONTHS
  • After deactivating, it is STRICTLY PROHIBITED to create a new account or play on another account for 6 months. A new account can be created 6 months after deactivating without contacting support.
  • Players who violate this policy change will have their NEW ACCOUNT PERMANENTLY BANNED and their MAIN ACCOUNT BANNED FOR UP TO 12 MONTHS. 

Please note that these rules also apply to account deletions.

Before deciding to deactivate, it’s important to remember the following:

Deactivating your account does not…

  1. Remove your Steam account
  2. Release verification from your account
  3. Let you evade a ban
  4. Reset your ELO or statistics
  5. Transfer subscriptions or FACEIT points
  6. Remove you from friends lists on other accounts
  7. Allow you to play on another account right away

Can I play on a new account once I’ve deactivated my account?

If you have not played on ANY FACEIT account within the past 6 months then you can create a new account to play from right away.

If you have been playing recently, you must wait 6 months before you are allowed to play again on a new account. Please note that verification is NOT released by deactivating an account, if you want to verify again on the new account you will need to delete the verified account (which also has a 6 month wait period).

How do I deactivate my account?

Please note that this is an automated process, meaning that making a ticket under this contact reason will result in the deactivation of your account (provided that you are logged in).

The deactivation process is not working, what do I do?

If you have updated your email address on your FACEIT account in the past there may be a mis-match of emails between your FACEIT account and support account. Please make sure that the email listed there is the same as on your FACEIT account. If you are having trouble updating it please reach out to us (under a different contact reason) and we can help you to get that sorted.

How do I delete my account?

Under EU law, players have the right to request their data be removed permanently from the platform. Please read our GDPR guides to find out more information. This is the only way to release verification from an account.
