From August 05 with Season 9, customisable nickname styles arrive as a Premium Loyalty reward. Font styles unlock the moment you subscribe, colours unlock from the Platinum tier, and effects unlock from the Elite tier. These are applied on several pages where your name appears, like on your FACEIT profile, Party or team finder, and Matchmaking page.
What are FACEIT nickname styles?
A new set of Loyalty rewards that changes how your nickname displays across FACEIT. There are three layers (Font, Colour, and Effect ): five new font styles, a set of different colours, and two additional effects: Gradient and Glow. What you can use depends on your subscription type and Premium Loyalty tier.
How do I unlock each layer?
Fonts are available immediately to any active subscriber, as all 5 new styles are unlocked when you subscribe to FACEIT Premium. Colours unlock from Platinum tier and above (Platinum, Diamond, Elite, and Legend). Effects unlock at Elite and Legend. The layers stack: at Platinum you can select both a font and a colour, and at Elite you can add one of the two effects on top.
Where does my custom nickname show?
It appears on pages where your name displays prominently: on the player profile, matchmaking play and group finders (e.g. in team finder for League, party finder or clubs). If a client or platform can't render a customisation or adding many styles would look messy with many different names (like leaderboards), then your name falls back to the default display.
How do I equip or change it?
You can change your Nickname style in your “edit profile” tab. All players see each option in the customization menu and can preview how they look. However, you are only able to save and apply your unlocked changes if you have the required Premium Loyalty tier.
What happens if my subscription ends?
Without an active subscription, Nickname styles are unavailable until you resubscribe. Your nickname simply returns to default, and nothing else on your profile is affected.
Can I buy fonts, colours, or effects with FACEIT Points or in the shop?
No. Nickname styles are strictly a Premium Loyalty reward and are not sold separately at any price. The only way to unlock more is to climb tiers.
Can I upload my own font or pick any colour I want?
Not today. The 5 new fonts and the colour palette are curated, and every option is reviewed for readability before release. Names have to stay legible for other players, and nothing can resemble admin, moderator, or roles.
Won't glowing names make the matchroom look a mess?
The nickname styles aren’t shown on every single page where your name appears. Every font, colour, and effect is reviewed for readability and visual noise before it ships, on every page it appears. If any option causes readability or performance problems, we do not add it to that page instead of letting it degrade the experience.
When does it launch?
August 05, with Season 9, for all eligible players at once.
