Game Mode Selection

These game modes work as presets for deciding the required team composition for matches

Available modes: 5v5, 2v2, 1v1, Wingman, Hostage.

System decision: If a team does not veto

  • Options
    • Auto-vote: The system automatically vetoes a random pick/ban for the team.
    • Hold: The match is paused for an admin to intervene manually.
  • Default: Hold.

System decision: No Show

  • Options:
    • Hold: The match is paused for an admin to intervene manually.
    • Auto-win: Win automatically assigned to the team with fewer no-shows on the server after the warmup timer runs out.
  • Default: Hold.

Voting Configuration

  • Voting time: For team captains to pick each map and server. Available: From 30 seconds to 8 minutes.
  • Games to play/win: Default: Bo1 (Best-of-1). Available options: Bo1, Bo2, Bo3, Bo5.
  • Enhanced EPT veto: ESL Pro Tour veto rules toggle. If enabled, the higher-seeded team decades the voting order.
    Please make sure you only have 7 maps selected.
    - Best of 1 EPT veto logic:
    1. Team A removes one map.
    2. Team B removes two maps.
    3. Team A removes two maps.
    4. Team B removes one map.
    5. The remaining map will be played.

    - Best of 3 EPT veto logic:
    0. The highest-seeded team chooses who starts the veto.
    1. Team A removes one map.
    2. Team B removes one map.
    3. Team A picks one map.
    4. Team B  picks one map.
    5. Team A removes one map.
    6. Team B removes one map.
    7. The remaining map will be played if needed


Map Veto

  • Available maps: Configured by the organizer.
  • Veto process (Example - Best-of-3 series default):
    1. Team A Ban
    2. Team B Ban
    3. Team A Pick
    4. Team B Pick
    5. Team A Ban
    6. Team B Ban
    7. Remaining map is played.

Server Location Veto

  • Available servers: Configured by the organizer.
  • Veto process (Example - Best-of-3 series default):
    1. Team A Ban
    2. Team B Ban
    3. Team A Pick
    4. Team B Pick
    5. Team A Ban
    6. Team B Ban
    7. Remaining map is played.

Game Configurations

  • Game Config: Customizable for partnered organizers (e.g., tournament_config).
  • Friendly Fire: Toggle for ON/OFF.
  • Knife Round: Toggle for ON/OFF. If disabled, the first team (the team on the left side of a FACEIT Matchroom) starts on CT side.
  • Ready command: Toggle for ON/OFF. If enabled, teams must type !ready in the in-game chat to start the match. Otherwise, the match starts as soon as all players have connected.

Overtime Rules

  • Maximum Rounds for Overtime: With the competitive default setting, a team must win four rounds in a single overtime to secure victory. If both teams win three rounds, overtime will be played again. 
    • Default competitive setting: 6 OT rounds
    • Optional: Min 2, Max 30.
  • Start money
    • Default value: 10000 
    • Optional: 12500, 13000, 16000 

Tactical Timeout Settings

Teams can initiate tactical timeout by using in-game veto.

  • Timeout duration: 30 seconds (Min 30, Max 120).
  • Timeouts per team: 3 (Min  0, Max 6).
  • Timeouts added:
    • When regulation ends (Min 0 / Max 6): This is the mp_team_timeout_ot_add_each cvar value.
      Number of timeouts to add for each team when regulation time ends and the match goes to overtime.
      Default: 1
    • On the next overtime (Min 0 / Max 6): This is the mp_team_timeout_ot_add_once cvar value.
      Number of timeouts to add for each team when the match goes to 2nd and each next overtime.
      Default: 1
    • Maximum timeouts per overtime (Min 0 / Max 6): This is the mp_team_timeout_ot_max cvar value.
      Max number of timeouts each team can have per OT after all OT timeouts got added. Default: 1

Technical Pause Settings

  • Technical Pause time per team
    • Default: 120 seconds (Min 1, Max 300). Teams can initiate technical timeout by using !pause command in the game chat.
  • Technical timeouts per team (e.g., the one used in regular Matchmaking)
    • Default: 0 (Min 0, Max 6).

Gameplay Options

  • Max rounds: 24 (Min 2, Max 60). This is the mp_maxrounds cvar value.
  • Start money: $ 800 (Min 800, Max 1600). This is the mp_startmoney cvar value.
  • Freezetime: 20 seconds. (Min: 5, Max: 20). This is the mp_freezetime cvar value.
  • Warmup time: 600 seconds (Min 60, Max 900). This is the mp_warmuptime cvar value.
  • TV delay: 60 seconds (Min 5, Max 120). This is the tv_delay1 cvar value.
  • Bots: Enabled by default (Difficulty: 3 = Expert). This is the bot_difficulty cvar value.

Additional Features

  • Vote kick: Enabled by default. If enabled, players can kick their teammates from the server, requires four votes.
  • Dead talk: Enabled by default. If enabled, dead players can talk to alive players.
  • Auto-kick: Disabled by default. The auto-kick feature kicks people for being AFK and dealing too much team damage.
  • Restore command: Disabled by default. This enables !restore in-game command to issue a technical pause during matches.
  • Agent skin warning: Disabled by default. Displays in-game chat warnings for players with active agent skins.
