What is a Standard Match?
Standard Matches are the default match type on FACEIT, open to both subscribers and free players. There are no restrictions on party size or party Elo.
Premium Match
What is a Premium Match?
Premium Match builds on Super Match with a higher entry bar: players must be subscribers, Verified, and Veterans. It also offers additional perks, including “High Stakes” matchmaking.
Why did you rename Premium Super Match to Premium Match?
When we introduced Premium Super Match in 2024, it became an extension of the requirements of Super Match expanding to incorporate higher stakes game play for subscribers only, however this year, we’ve evolved this queue to have a higher bar to entry that takes this queue beyond our Super Match type.
Why add new restrictions on Premium Match?
Previously the minimum number of matches to enter Premium Super was 30, meaning Level 10s could meet in some cases almost new accounts. This new update essentially filters out low-match accounts entirely, allowing our matcher to balance only among experienced players.
How do I qualify for Premium Match?
Premium Matches have been updated as of November 17th and are restricted to subscribers who are now also Verified and Veteran to ensure that this queue has the most proven and experienced players.
Premium Match Features
- Subscriber only - Players must be Plus or Premium Subscribers
- Verified only - Only players who have verified their account can access Premium Match
-
Veteran only - Only parties with veteran status can participate in Premium Matches. For more information on Veteran Matching please check out this article.
- If you are queuing in a party, the system will consider the player in your party with the lowest number of matches to ensure balance.
- Party Size Limit - Super Matches allow parties of one or two, preventing you from facing large, coordinated teams, making matches more balanced.
-
Elo Difference Limit - Premade parties cannot exceed a 400 Elo difference.
- ⚠️ Level 1 or Level 10 players may occasionally exceed 400 Elo distance in the match.
- Additionally, parties with a player above 2800 Elo can exceed the 400 Elo Party difference but will incur Elo penalties the further they exceed the 400 Elo Limit.
- High Stakes Matches - Premium Matches are designed to be the most competitive games, with the stakes higher than usual. You can gain or lose 20% more Elo in every match.
- Vote Kick Enabled - If a player is disruptive during a match, you can initiate a vote to kick them to maintain a positive gaming experience.
Who can access Premium Match?
Currently, Premium Match is only available in the EU and NA regions. To access Premium Match in these regions you must meet the following criteria:
- Veteran & Verified: Premium Match is available exclusively to subscribers in NA and EU who are Veteran AND Verified.
- Party Size Limit - Premium Matches allow parties of one or two players
-
Elo Difference Limit - Premade parties cannot exceed a 400 Elo difference.
How do I enable or disable Premium Match?
To enable or disable Premium Match, go to the Matchmaking Play page and select the desired match type within the Match Type tab. This allows you to easily adjust your preferences.
⚠️Subscribers can still be matched into Super Matches if they meet the match criteria. Similarly, veteran and verified subscribers can be matched into Premium Matches if they fit the criteria, even if they are not selected in your queue options.
Will joining Premium Match affect my queue times?
Joining Premium Match may increase your queue time very slightly. This is because the matchmaking system takes additional time to find opponents that meet the stricter requirements of Premium Match. However, the slight delay is balanced by the improved quality and competitiveness of these matches.
I’m a verified level 10 ( joined from Steam straight to level 7) with 300 matches on FACEIT, can I join Premium Match?
No, at this time you do not meet the requirements for Veteran for your level and therefore would be unable to select Premium Match. To find out more about Veteran criteria by level, please see here.
Super Match
What is a Super Match?
Super Match is our advanced matchmaking system available to subscribers who want enhanced competitive standards. This feature provides more control over match parameters, as it limits party composition, skill rating variance, and player experience thresholds.
This ensures balanced competitive environments that maintain integrity across all skill levels. Queue times may be longer than normal due to the increased restrictions on the matching system, prioritizing match quality over speed.
What happened to Premium Super Match?
Premium Super Match launched with FACEIT 2.0, mirroring Super Match but exclusively for subscribers in higher-stakes matches with more Elo at risk. Since then, the queue has evolved beyond Super Match, now requiring Veteran and Verified status and has been renamed to Premium Match.
Super Match Features
Super Matches now feature Flex Matching. We prioritize matching you with other subscribers to provide a more premium experience but this is not guaranteed ( the only match type that guarantees this is Premium Match). If there are not enough subscribers available, eligible free players who meet the match requirements may be included.
Below are the features and controls available for Super Match:
- Party Size Limit - Super Match allows parties of one, two or three players, preventing you from facing large, coordinated teams, making matches more balanced.
-
Elo Difference Limit - Premade parties cannot exceed a 400 Elo difference.
- Vote Kick Enabled - If a player is disruptive during a match, you can initiate a vote to kick them to maintain a positive gaming experience.
- Option to turn on Verified Only Matching: Verified players/parties can opt to turn on Verified Matching to be matched only with other verified players.
-
Option to turn on Veteran Only Matching: Veteran players/parties can opt to turn on Veteran Only Matching to be matched only with other verified players.
- Both toggles at the same time: Players who meet the relevant criteria for Veteran and Verified can opt to choose both toggles at the same time for Veteran and Verified Matching, although queue times may extend.
Who can access Super Match?
Super Match is available to all subscribers across all regions. Non-subscribers can also be matched into Super Matches if they match the criteria, but cannot queue exclusively for them.
- Party Size Limit - Parties of one, two or three players only
-
Elo Difference Limit - Premade parties cannot exceed a 400 Elo difference.
How do I enable or disable Super Match?
To enable or disable Super Match, go to the Matchmaking Play page and select the desired match type within the Match Type tab. This allows you to easily adjust your preferences.
⚠️Non-subscribers can still be matched into Super Matches if they meet the match criteria. Similarly, subscribers can be matched into Super Matches if they fit the criteria, even if they are not selected in your queue options.
Will enabling Veteran or Verified Only Toggles on Super Match affect my queue times?
Enabling either toggle on Super Match may increase your queue times but we do not expect these times to be excessive. This is because the matchmaking system takes additional time to find opponents that meet the stricter requirements of Super Match. However, the slight delay is balanced by the improved quality and competitiveness of the matches.
