A Primary Team is your main team for a game on FACEIT. It's the team people see when they look at your profile. From October 14, every team with a League roster (ESEA and FACEIT League) becomes a Primary Team, and we remove every member who is not on the roster. If you're a captain, go to Team Home before October 14 and add everyone you want to keep to your roster, as a player, a substitute or a coach.
Today, a team and its roster are two separate things. A team can hold dozens of members, and only some of them are on the roster you register for a League season. In a Primary Team, the roster is the team. There is no separate member list.
How Primary Teams work
- Your roster is your team: every member of a Primary Team is on the roster.
- One Primary Team per game: to join a different Primary Team for the same game, leave your current one first.
- Roster limits come from the League: the League format for that game sets how many players, substitutes and coaches a Primary Team can have.
- You manage your team in Team Home: you add and remove members there. The public team page no longer has these controls.
- Roster locks and cooldowns don't change: they still only apply to teams in an active League season.
What happens on October 14
On October 14, every team with a League roster becomes a Primary Team, and we remove every member who is not on the roster.
If you're a captain, check your roster in Team Home before then. Anyone you want to keep needs to be on the roster on October 14, as a player, a substitute or a coach. If you're a member and not on the roster, ask your captain to add you before October 14.
If you're removed from a team, you keep your account, stats and match history and you’ll lose your place on the team. Any members automatically removed from the team can be re-invited with respect to the roster locks and cooldowns.
Teams that have never signed up for the League have no League roster, so nothing changes for them.
FAQ
Can I still play with people outside my Primary Team?
Yes. You can still sign up for one-off tournaments with a temporary team. Those results show up in your own profile and match history.
Where do I find Team Home?
Team Home is the private, members-only dashboard for your League team, where you manage your roster. Click your team avatar in the right sidebar, just under your party.
How do I change my Primary Team?
Leave your current Primary Team first. Then join another Primary Team, or register for a League season with another team. Either way, that team becomes your Primary Team.
If your current team is in an active League season, roster locks and cooldowns apply when you leave, the same as they do today.
