Access Tokens were previously called Super Match tokens but they will unlock new functionality with Season 8, starting April 22.
What are Access Tokens?
Access Tokens let players try several features on FACEIT without committing to a full subscription, including:
- Super Match queue entry (regular), which is normally available only for Premium players. This is currently only available in CS2. Access Super Match with 1 token.
- Premium Match queue entry, which is normally available only for Premium players. This is currently only available in CS2, Solo / Duo only. High-stakes matches with only Veteran & Verified players. Access Premium Match for 1 token.
- League Stand-In: Be a substitute for one League official in ESEA League (CS2) or FACEIT League (Overwatch) for 3 tokens.
- Match highlights: Generate a highlight of a selected round to share. This is currently only available in CS2. Access and archive your favorite moment with 1 token.
How can I get a token?
You can purchase Access Tokens in the Shop either by spending FACEIT Points or paying with your preferred payment method. Tokens are available to buy in packs of 3, 5 or 10 tokens at once. You can find Access Tokens in Shop by going to Profile - Services.
You can earn Access Tokens in FACEIT Missions by completing a step that awards a token.
In addition, Premium Loyalty members will be allocated up to 12 free tokens based on their tier every month. This will happen automatically and renew each month, the tokens will be simply added to the player’s balance. Premium players are welcome to purchase more tokens if they need from Shop directly. Unused Loyalty allocated tokens will not stack month over month, and will just refresh.
Please note that Access Tokens were previously called Super Match tokens. They have since been expanded to access more features. Your current balance remains unchanged and can be used to access all of the features above.
How do tokens work?
Super Match & Premium Match: Play for more Elo in High-Stakes matches with a closer Elo range than in Matchmaking. Once you have tokens on your balance, you will be able to join either the Super or Premium Match queue from the play page, provided that your party is eligible to join (see more details here.) All token holders will get a Token badge in the matchroom to distinguish between players. After a match has finished, 1 token will be deducted from your token balance. Please note that if the match was cancelled, the token will not be used, and your balance will remain unchanged.
If all your party members have either a Premium Subscription or Tokens, you will be able to join the Super Match or Premium Match queue together, provided your party is eligible to join the respective match types.
ESEA League Stand-In & FACEIT League Stand-in: Redeeming 3 tokens grants you entry into a single official match during an ongoing League Season. You can choose to redeem tokens for yourself or for any member of your League roster who does not currently have a required subscription to play.
Please note that tokens are only considered "permanently used" once the match has been officially completed. After the match ends, you will be removed from future matches unless you redeem additional tokens or purchase the required subscription.
If the League Season ends and you have not played a match, or if the player for whom the tokens were redeemed leaves the roster before playing a match, the tokens will be returned to your balance.
Match highlights: Save and share your favorite moments from your matches with a single click from the match page. Following each match you play on FACEIT, there will now be an option to manually generate a highlight clip for your chosen specific round. This is on top of the video highlight automatically chosen as part of Premium memberships, so if your favorite moment wasn’t selected, you can still archive a favorite moment.
To clip a highlight view our “Match Insights” section, where you can then select a round you would like to clip before confirming to spend 1 token. You can find these in the Stats page for each match. Please note that it might take up to 5 minutes to generate a highlight clip. Once ready, it will appear in your Profile under Highlights.
What happens when I run out of tokens?
After all tokens are used, you will again see a regular free version of all the abovementioned features. You will be able to access them by purchasing more tokens or earning them through a higher Premium Loyalty tier or through a mission.
Where can I check my token balance?
Token balance will be visible on the right menu bar, next to FACEIT Points balance.
What if I don’t want to use my token?
That’s fine, as a free player you can always join the regular free 5v5 queue, and your token will not be used. As a Premium player, your tokens will not be used on Super Match or Premium queue either.
What if I leave the match I used my token on?
The token is used up once a match is completed, even if you are marked as a leaver your token will be used up. If the match is cancelled before it ends then the token will not be used up.
I already have Premium Subscription, do I need a Token?
As a Premium Subscription holder you don’t need an Access Token to queue in the Super Match or Premium Match. However, you can benefit from Access Tokens and spend them on either Match highlights, ESEA League Stand-In or FACEIT League Stand-in. As part of our Premium Loyalty Program, you will be allocated a number of free tokens every month.
