What is FACEIT?
FACEIT is a platform focused on fostering communities and providing high level online competitions for multiple PvP games.
Rise through the ranks and participate in tournaments, or find yourself a place to belong in a community Club.
Creating an account
To start your journey on FACEIT you will first need to create an account. You can do this on our home page by clicking on the ‘CREATE ACCOUNT’ button at the top of the page.
Now that I have an account, what do I do?
Once you have created your account you will be met with a games landing page to select what game you are most interested in
This will not register the game on your account straight away, but it will give you access to that game’s play page so you can view any upcoming tournaments.
The next step will be registering one or more games on your account. To do this navigate to the ‘Play’ tab on the left of the page or go to https://www.faceit.com/en/play. Here you will be shown the game page that you initially selected so that you can easily register that game by clicking ‘CONNECT GAME’ at the top-left of the page.
If you want to register another game, click the 3 dots next to your current game’s icon, this will open up a list of games that you can connect to FACEIT, much like the menu shown above.
How can I play on FACEIT?
There are 3 ways that games can be played on FACEIT; Matchmaking, Tournaments and Clubs/Clans/Hubs. Please note that not all games will have all three of these options, some may only have tournaments.
Matchmaking
This works much like an in-game matchmaking system. You can queue up on your own or with friends and get matched against players of a similar skill level. Standard matchmaking for a game will always affect elo unless stated otherwise.
Tournaments
Tournaments are competitive events that you will need to sign up for in advance in order to participate. These will have a ‘bracket’ format, where players or teams will face off in rounds until the final. Many tournaments will have prizes such as FACEIT points or skins for placing highly. Some tournaments can affect elo, others don’t, you can find this information in the rules of a tournament.
Clubs/Clans/Hubs
These are community spaces run by communities or individuals where you play with (or against) other members of the community.
- Clans allow players to build a team within the community and queue up into matchmaking with that group of players.
- Hubs have internal queues that you can queue up for on your own or with a party, which will match together parties queuing up within that Hub against each other. Some partnered Hubs can have elo enabled in their matches, but most hubs will not affect elo. Click here to find out more about Hubs.
- Clubs is the new combination of Clans and Hubs, allowing community leaders to have all of the above features in one place! You can find out more about Clubs here
Can I play with my friends?
Of course! You can add a friend on FACEIT either from their profile page! Once you are friends you can invite them to join your party in order to play together. A full guide on parties can be found here
What is my rank on FACEIT and how can I improve it?
Our rankings are based on an Elo score and a Level between 1 and 10, and a separate Challenger rank for the top 1000 players in each region. Each level represents a group of players within a certain elo range e.g.
The default starting point is 1000 elo for all games, however some games, such as Overwatch 2 and DOTA 2, allow you to calibrate your elo based on your in-game rank.
Your elo will be updated from matches played in matchmaking on FACEIT (if available) as well as playing in certain tournaments and Clubs/hubs.
What are FACEIT subscriptions?
There are two different types of subscriptions on FACEIT, Premium/Plus subscriptions and League pass subscriptions.
Premium/Plus
A premium or plus subscription will give you access to improvements and additional features throughout FACEIT! You can find out more about these subscriptions and a full list of features at https://www.faceit.com/en/upgrade
League Passes
These subscriptions allow you to compete in FACEIT Leagues, which are aimed at more competitively minded players, as the League format simulates professional play. Rising through the Leagues can even lead to the opportunity to play in the professional circuit or in pro tournaments. We currently run these Leagues for CS2 and Overwatch 2.
What can I win playing on FACEIT?
You can win FACEIT points and other prizes from ladders, tournaments, clans, hubs & clubs as well as from missions that we have on the platform.
- Ladders are run regularly and are ranked based on matchmaking games, so all you have to do is play in matchmaking to potentially win.
- Tournaments will have their prizes clearly displayed on the tournament page, there can be daily/weekly tournaments with FACEIT point rewards, as well as specialized tournaments that can have skins, physical items or even cash prizes.
- Clans, clubs and hubs can have internal leaderboards with prizes available ranging from FACEIT points to physical prizes, these can be checked in the leaderboards tab in the Club/Clan/Hub page.
- Missions can be activated on your missions page and will generally have FACEIT point rewards, however some promotional partnered missions can have other prizes. We also run a monthly mission every month only for users with a Premium subscription, which have FACEIT point prizes available and an in-game skin reward at the end if you complete all parts of the mission.
How do I know that my matches are fair?
In any game that works with the FACEIT Anti-Cheat, the majority of players in the queue will be required to use it. This means that you can be sure that no one in the match is cheating. We also urge players to verify their account. Verifying your account makes you more likely to be matched with other verified players so that you can be confident that you aren’t playing against any smurfs.
