Which personal data will FACEIT delete if I request to delete my account? 

If you request account deletion, we will delete all personal data concerning you that is no longer necessary for the purposes for which it was collected. 

After we exercised your account deletion, we may keep personal data about that is still necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, such as to ensure compliance with the FACEIT Terms and Conditions, Code of Conduct, the FACEIT Banning Policy, to ensure the fairness, integrity and credibility of our platform, as well to protect the interests of players using our platform.

For how long will FACEIT retain a copy of my ID document collected as part of the ID verification?

We retain the copy of your ID document and the information included therein for 90 days after your attempt to verify - whereafter we delete this information from our servers (including Daon’s servers).

If my account has been deleted, can I re-use my ID again for verifying my ID on a new account?

Yes. You can re-verify on a new account with your ID 6 months after the date of your account was deleted. You are not allowed to re-verify sooner.

Is a ban imposed on an account or a person? 

Bans are applied to individuals, not just their accounts. This means that if a player is banned, they are prohibited from accessing our services, regardless of how many accounts they create. Creating a new account or deleting old banned accounts does not bypass the ban, as it applies to the person, not just a single account. This policy applies to any type of ban.

If my account has been deleted, can I use my email to create a new account?

Yes! Your email address is deleted as part of the deletion of your account. Once we have confirmed the deletion of your account and you waited 6 months, you are able to create a new account with the same email address.

If my account has been deleted, can I use my nickname on a new account?

No, you cannot. At this time nicknames are necessary to maintain basic historical records of your competitions’ participation, as well as rankings, statistics and leaderboards. Nicknames are not released after an account is deleted. However, if you wish to change your nickname before deletion, we kindly ask you to submit a Community Support ticket request before starting the account deletion process.

Can I link my Steam account, CS2 or any game that was connected to my deleted account to a new FACEIT account?

No, you cannot. We apply this rule to:

  • prevent cheating;
  • prevent other unsportsmanlike conduct and behaviour that are sanctioned in our terms and conditions and ban policy;
  • ensure our competitions are fair and our competition terms and conditions are complied with by entrants;
  • maintain historical rankings, statistics and leaderboards; and
  • maintain basic records of your historical competitions’ participation.

Can I immediately create a new account after deleting an account? 

No. You can only create a new account after 6 months from the date of your account deletion or deactivation. This means that after the confirmation of the deletion or deactivation of your account you must wait 6 months before you are allowed to play again on another account. If you violate this rule, you will be permanently removed from our platform and all other new accounts will be banned.

What data do we (including Daon as our data processor) keep after my account is verified?

After your account is verified, we store the personal data you shared as part of the verification process, including a copy of your ID document and the personal data therein, your facial image, a numerical value derived from your facial image, and a hashed value created from your full name, date of birth, and country, and your FACEIT user-ID.

The copy of your ID document and the information included therein are automatically deleted from Daon’s servers 90 days after you verified your account.

The remaining information is kept in a secure, hashed, non-readable format that cannot be reversed or "unhashed" by either us or Daon. This data is used solely to protect the integrity of our platform and ensure that each player holds only one account. 

Additional information:

Please note that additional data like FACEIT points, subscriptions, elo, skill level, game stats, ladder points or ladder placements, badges, shop orders, prizes, drops, purchased digital items, verifications, nicknames are non-transferable. This means that the data from your account cannot be moved or transferred to another account.

If you have an active subscription at the time of deletion, it will be automatically cancelled, and you will not be charged again.
