Seeding FAQ

When it can be done

  • Seeding can be done in the adjustment phase, that is the time period between sign-up closes and round 1, so if you plan to seed more teams make sure you leave yourself enough time to seed them.
  • If you have the option it is recommended to disable auto-start that way the tournament won`t start automatically while you are still doing the seeding

Where it can be done

  • Seeding is done on the participant's tab in the tournament once the sign-ups have been closed

How is done

  • For elimination formats ( Single Elimination and Double Elimination) you assign each team a number starting from 1.
    • 1 Means the highest-seeded team and the higher you go with the seed number the lower seed that team will have.
    • If a team is assigned seed 1 it means that is the highest seeded while a team that is seeded 32 means that is the lowest seeded
    • Each seeding number can be used only once (You can`t have 2 teams that have seed 1)
    • If needed you can seed all the participants in the tournament or just a few of them.
      • If you seed all the participants the bracket will be generated based on the seed values that you provided
      • If you seed just the top X teams, those teams will be seeded the highest and the rest of the teams will be seeded under them based on the FACEIT level (A team that is level 4 but seeded as number 8 will be better seeded than a team that is level 10 but not assigned a seed number)
  • For non-elimination formats ( Round Robin) if you have multiple groups you can move the participants from one group to another.
