CS2 Anti-Cheat Measures - ENC

Platform checks

  • Requiring Faceit ID Verification System (IDV) for all players before they can join the tournament. This will not impact a player’s ability to participate from another computer (e.g. bootcamp facility, gaming centre) or from another country (e.g. for players abroad).
    • Waiting for the new requirement to launch AC before completing IDV will provide hardware ID for all verified players
    • For every player we are able to review Hardware ID and IP Address as well as other verification details (e.g. country)
  • Hardware obligations to make the FACEIT Anti-Cheat even more effective:
    • AC will have TPM and SecureBoot requirements for all players
    • AC will have IOMMU/VBS requirements for all players with >3000 ELO
    • AC will have IOMMU/VBS requirements for players with compatible hardware

Operational checks:

  • Review of accounts to identify potential Ban Evasion or MultiAccounting by checking our Account Similarity Model
  • Review of verifications to identify if documents and country match
  • Review of accounts to check for suspicious signals such as:
    • Freshly created accounts
    • Accounts with low # matches played
    • Accounts with multiple Device IDs associated
  • Submission of documents to cross-check with DAON data at later stages of qualifiers
  • Submission of selfies with FACEIT matchroom visible so verify players playing, with the AC also enabled on the selfie they send, to check if they have a different hardware ID

Additional checks:

  • For selected countries where we consider the risk of cheating is high, we will ask the top 4 teams to have all their players film themselves with their smartphone while playing, and then send the video for review

Cheating report process:

  • Any player that suspects the use of cheating should submit a report through the match room’s page, as explained here: https://support.faceit.com/hc/en-us/articles/115001314150-How-to-report-a-cheater
  • For any report of cheating, the admin team will conduct a check of the accused player’s profile, and if necessary a demo review, to determine whether the cheating risk is valid.
  • If the player’s profile and demo review do not provide sufficient assurance of compliance with fair play standards, the matter will be escalated to the Anti-Cheat team.
  • In such cases, the Anti-Cheat team will conduct a deeper investigation into the players data to identify if any anomalies can be detected. If necessary (and only for high-profile players), the AC team will get on a call with the player to walk them through their setup.
