FACEIT Voice Nano: South East Asia + Russia Beta Test FAQ

What is FACEIT Voice Nano?

FACEIT Voice Nano is a lightweight voice chat application that runs alongside CS2. The standalone client operates with a RAM usage baseline below 10MB. This minimizes the impact on your in-game FPS compared to external voice software, which regularly consumes hundreds of megabytes of system memory during matches.

Why is it being beta tested in South East Asia and Russia first?

Following private testing, the beta phase is expanding into South East Asia and Russia to collect technical data and player feedback. Restricting the initial public testing to these regions limits external network variables, allowing the team to verify client stability and baseline memory usage before expanding access to the remaining regional queues.

Why did we build it?

Standard desktop voice applications require significant system resources or oblige players to keep large software clients active during gameplay. This resource draw can impact hardware performance, which is a critical factor when grinding Elo in matchmaking. Nano isolates voice transmission into a lightweight client so competitive players do not have to compromise between system frames and team communication.

Who is it for?

The client is for matchmaking players who require stable team communication without performance drops, or anyone looking to reduce background memory utilization to maximize their in-game FPS.

How does it work?

Nano functions as a standalone, pop-out application launched directly via the FACEIT desktop client. It syncs your active audio configurations and allows you to manage microphone inputs, speaker outputs, volume levels, and push-to-talk binds without requiring the primary desktop application to remain open. The client runs minimized inside your system tray, displays live CPU and memory usage statistics, and executes an automated reconnection sequence when a match begins.

How do I use it? Do I need the FACEIT client?

Yes, the FACEIT desktop client is required to initialize this test phase.

  1. Join a voice party inside the main FACEIT client.

  2. Click the pop-out interface icon to launch the Nano client in an isolated window.

  3. Once the Nano interface is active, you can close the main desktop client. The Nano application maintains your position in the voice channel.

Do I have to download any new programs?

No separate manual installation is required. The first time you execute the pop-out command, a brief background update installs the necessary files automatically.

How does it improve upon what FACEIT Voice had before?

Previously, platform voice features operated entirely within the core desktop client, which utilizes a larger memory footprint and requires players to tab out to a full application window to adjust audio preferences mid-match. Nano replaces that system with an optimized background tool that operates independently from the primary platform interface.

Technical Use Case Example

When you are playing a match with your team and the main platform application is completely closed, Nano runs inside your system tray utilizing less than 10MB of RAM. If you need to modify your microphone volume levels, you can click the tray icon, adjust the slider or toggle your mute status, and return to the game matchroom instantly. The interface does not cause latency drops or require navigation through complex menus.

Will this lower my in-game FPS?

The tool uses minimal system resources to protect your hardware performance. Its low allocation threshold prevents the frame drops or resource competition commonly associated with running the full desktop client or external team communication software.

How can I make Nano my default voice client?

You can configure the application to initiate automatically upon entering a party voice channel. This toggle is positioned directly inside the voice settings menu of the main desktop client.

What happens if I don't have a microphone?

You can join a voice-mandated party channel and listen to team audio even if no input device is detected by your system. Your account joins the channel in an automated mute state, which remains active until a physical microphone is connected and configured.

When will it be available in other regions?

The current beta testing phase is restricted to South East Asia and Russia. Global rollout schedules and broader regional access depend on the server stability data and telemetry metrics recorded during this initial window. There is no fixed date for a global release phase yet.
