FACEIT Voice Nano: South East Asia + Russia Beta Test FAQ

What is FACEIT Voice Nano?

FACEIT Voice Nano is a lightweight voice chat designed to run alongside CS2 with minimal performance impact. So far, it has been tested with a small pool of players and the results are very promising: consistently using <10MB of memory. This means an almost unnoticeable impact on your FPS, especially when compared to other Voice applications - which can pull hundreds of your precious RAM megabytes away from CS2.

Why is it being beta tested in South East Asia and Russia first?

After successful private tests, we are expanding our testing in South East Asia and Russia to gather focused feedback. This allows us to ensure the Nano client is stable and delivers on our <10MB performance promise before sharing this with the rest of the community. By focusing on one region, we reduce the number of external factors that may impact connectivity, and concentrate on building the best possible application.

Why did we build it?

Most voice applications are resource-intensive or force players to keep heavy clients open with unnecessary features: this worsens performance, which is particularly important to those grinding for Elo on FACEIT. We built Nano to eliminate that noise: zero distractions, zero bloat, just clear comms. Competitive players shouldn’t have to choose between frames and communication.

Who is it for?

Competitive players who love the Elo grind and need stable voice comms without any performance dip, or anyone looking for a boost to their FPS.

How does it work?

Nano runs as a standalone, pop-out app that launches directly from the FACEIT client. It syncs your voice settings and lets you control all the key settings (mic, speaker, volume, push-to-talk) without needing the main FACEIT client to be running. It can also run in the system tray, display real-time stats like CPU/memory usage, and reconnect automatically when matches start.

How do I use it? Do I need the FACEIT client?

Yes, you will need the FACEIT desktop client for this test. To use Nano:

  1. Join a voice party in the FACEIT client.
  2. Click the "pop-out" icon to launch the Nano client in a separate window.
  3. Once Nano is running, you can close the main FACEIT client. Nano will keep you in the voice call.

Do I have to download any new programs?

No. The first time you launch Nano, a small download and installation will happen automatically in the background.

How does it improve upon what FACEIT Voice had before?

Previously, FACEIT Voice lived inside the main desktop client, which takes up more memory and forced players to keep the full client open to tweak settings mid-game. Nano gets rid of that: it’s faster, cleaner, more efficient, and designed to disappear into the background while still doing its job flawlessly.

What is a real life example of how it works?

You’re communicating with your friends in a CS2 FACEIT match, and the FACEIT app is closed. Nano runs quietly in your tray, taking up less than 10MB of RAM. You need to change your mic volume? Click the tray icon, toggle mute, and get back to the game in seconds. No lag, no complex app to navigate, no finicky UI. That’s Nano.

Will this lower my in-game FPS?

FACEIT Voice Nano is designed specifically to prevent any impact on your FPS. Its low resource usage ensures it doesn’t impact your performance as much as the FACEIT client or other third-party voice applications.

How can I make Nano my default voice client?

You can set Nano to launch automatically whenever you join a party with voice. This option is available in your voice settings within the main FACEIT client.

What happens if I don't have a microphone?

You can still join a voice-required party and listen to your teammates even without a microphone detected. You will join the channel on mute and will not be able to speak until a microphone is connected.

When will it be available in other regions?

The current test is focused in South East Asia. A broader release will depend on the feedback and data we gather during this phase. We do not have a specific date for a global rollout yet.
