Match Insights launches on April 22nd alongside Season 8 for Premium players. This feature provides a round-by-round radar breakdown directly on the match page, removing the requirement to download a demo file for basic match analysis.
Why it was built
Reviewing performance data helps isolate recurring positional errors, but opening full demo files to verify a single round timeline is time-consuming. Most players reserve demo reviews for League matches or specific round evaluations.
Match Insights visualizes kill and death coordinates, utility utility deployment, and round performance graphs directly in the browser. This allows you to check site holds or utility positioning immediately after the match completes.
How it works
The tool uses platform match telemetry to reconstruct every round on a 2D map overlay.
Kill and Death Locations: Maps the exact coordinates where players secured kills or died during engagements.
Utility Tracking: Displays where every smoke, molotov, incendiary grenade, and flashbang detonated, along with which players were affected by the radius.
Timeline Charts: Graphs round-by-round performance metrics across the match, tracking Average Damage per Round (ADR), entry duels, and damage dealt.
Application in matchmaking
You can use the radar breakdown to review specific round events and structural mistakes:
Utility Validation: Review who deployed flashbangs, where smokes bloomed, and whether early round utility dealt damage. If a cross-map smoke lineup missed its target, the radar indicates the exact landing coordinate.
Trading and Spacing: Visualize how your team spaces out during executes or map control protocols to see if players are in position to trade kills.
Isolating Highlights: When a player gets a multi-kill, the timeline marker allows you to find the exact round and timestamp to clip the play.
Position Tracking: If your death marker appears in the same crosshair angle multiple rounds in a row, it indicates a positional vulnerability you can adjust for the next queue.
How you should use it
Match Insights functions as a tool for quick evaluations between matches. It tracks:
Whether flashbangs blinded opponents or teammates.
Your exact death locations against specific executive pushes.
Performance drops across specific portions of the match timeline.
This utility data does not replace the 3D perspective of a demo file for evaluating crosshair placement, micro-movements, or complex angle holds, but it provides the context required to adjust positioning before your next match.
Feature access eligibility
Match Insights will be available to Premium subscribers on April 22nd.
Access releases in two stages. ESEA League players receive access first for League matches, followed by all Premium players at the start of Season 8.
What to expect on April 22nd
When Season 8 launches, an Insights tab will update inside the matchroom. Every match played from April 22nd onward will generate this telemetry automatically. Historical matches already stored in your match history will also display this data. You can review your match history to analyze your placement matches during the seasonal reset.
