Teams are seeded in ESEA League by a clear hierarchy for Season 56:
- VRS Status: Teams with VRS Points from Valve’s December 2025 ranking are automatically placed in Advanced.
- Group Status: Teams will be seeded to a group based on last season’s performance (e.g., Advanced, Main, Intermediate) if they retain at least 3 of their 5 most active players and use these players in each match.
- No Status: New or returning teams are placed based on their average FACEIT Elo, e.g. to Open10
This system ensures balanced competition and fair progression for both new and established teams so everyone can avoid wasting time in stomps and gain more competitive experience against team strategies at their level
