How to download and watch a CS2 demo

Go to the matchroom of the game you intend to watch. Ensure that the match took place within the last 30 days.

Click on ‘Watch Demo’ at the centre of the match page to download the file.

Our demos are compressed, so you’ll need software like WinRAR to decompress the file.

Locate the folder where you saved the demo, right-click on it, and select 'Open with WinRAR' (or your preferred file decompression software).

Within WinRAR, click on the file and choose 'Extract to a specified folder.' Select the folder where your CS2 is installed, for example - C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Counter-Strike Global Offensive\game\csgo.

Please note: This is NOT the folder where you would typically save CS:GO demos. Ensure you select the 'game' folder before choosing 'csgo' to ensure the correct location.

At this point, we highly recommend renaming the demo to something more memorable. Navigate to the folder where you saved the demo, right-click on the file, and enter the desired name.

Open your copy of CS2 and access the console using your designated keybinding. If you haven't set a keybinding for this, go into your controls and assign one.

In the console, type 'playdemo nameofdemo' and press enter. This command will load the demo for you.
