Season 7 in FACEIT CS2 Matchmaking FAQ

Matchmaking seasons on FACEIT run for 4 months, and give every player the opportunity to fight their way to the top and earn rewards before being soft reset at the end of each season to keep the grind competitive. For more information, check out our blog here

When is Season 7?

Season 7 of FACEIT CS2 Matchmaking will take place from 1pm UTC on November 19th, 2025 to early April 2026. Players will have the opportunity to compete and climb the ranks throughout this period to earn exclusive rewards.

What can players earn from Season 7?

The top 1000 eligible players in each region earn a Challenger Rank Badge for their profile based on their final rankings within their region. This badge is a marker of your skill, dedication, and success, which is kept permanently on your profile.

How is the badge awarded?

To qualify for a Challenger Rank Badge, players must meet the following criteria:

1. Majority of games in one region: players must have the majority of their games played in a specific region to be eligible for a badge in that region.
2. 50 wins: players must have at least 50 wins in their most-played region in order to be eligible for a challenger badge and rank there.

For example, if you played 500 games in the EU region and 10 games in the NA region, your badge will be awarded based on your EU ranking as the majority of your games were played in that region.

To qualify for an FPL badge, simply earn FPL points at any point in the season - and earn a uniquely numbered badge if you make the top 10! Non-invited players can qualify to FPL temporarily by making it to the top 15 non-invited players in each FPL region’s Elo leaderboards.

Why does my badge number not match my final Challenger rank?

A snapshot of player ranks is taken at midnight UTC on the final day of the season, unless otherwise specified. Your rank might update after this snapshot due to players being moved to the correct regional leaderboards based on where they played the most matches.

Is there prize money for Challenger Rank in Season 7?

Challenger Rank players receive a badge at the end of the season, but prize money is won by qualifying to and winning in FPL - the top Challenger players will receive an invitation every 2 weeks - for more details, read this article.
