What is the New Monthly Mission Format With Two Reward Tiers?
A new monthly mission launches on May 1 for all players with two reward tiers: Free and Premium.
- Same mission and steps for all players
- Each step unlocks different rewards based on your membership tier
- Upgrading to Premium unlocks previously earned rewards.
Earn more from the matches you already play by upgrading to Premium.
How does the two-tier reward system work?
You complete the monthly mission steps one by one. All players have the same steps, although Premium unlocks more rewards more often and with bigger prizes.
For each milestone:
- Free → basic rewards
- Premium → both basic and Premium rewards for the same progress
What happens if I upgrade to Premium later in the month?
You unlock all Premium rewards you already reached for that month.
Example:
- You complete 4 steps of the mission while your account is “free”
- You upgrade to Premium
- You immediately receive the Premium rewards for the same 4 steps
Progress is not reset or lost, so you can still benefit even if you’re upgrading later in the month.
What kind of rewards are included?
Missions can award:
- FACEIT Points
- Access Tokens so you can generate highlight clips, try ESEA League officials, or play for more Elo in Premium Match or Super Match.
- Exclusive cosmetics like avatar frames or profile cards
- CS2 Skins
Exact rewards depend on the step and if you are Premium or not.
Do I need Premium to participate in Missions?
Not starting with the new structure in Season 8, with the first updated mission starting May 1.
- All players can complete missions
- Free players earn rewards
- Premium players earn additional rewards for the same effort
When do missions start?
New Monthly Missions begin during Season 8 with the first one starting on May 1.
Why was this added?
To reward free players with mission rewards while also preventing players who upgrade at the end of the month from missing out.
- Free players → clear progression path
- Premium players → more value from the same playtime with more FACEIT Points, Tokens, and exclusive cosmetics
What should I do?
Play normally. You don’t need to change how you queue, your matches already count.
The new Monthly Mission Format doesn’t change how you play. They make sure the games you already play consistently count toward something and give more value to players who upgrade to Premium.
