OW2 Technical Pause

Technical pauses are a feature available for multiple events on the FACEIT platform. Technical pauses give each team the ability to pause the game for a certain period of time while it’s ongoing.
The amount of technical pauses as well as the length of them depends on the event you are competing in however for FACEIT League and its qualifiers, the settings are as follows:

Per Map:
Amount of pauses per team - 2
Length of each pause - 120 seconds
Resume cooldown - 10 seconds

Anyone in the team is able to initiate this pause. Once a match is ongoing, they are able to pause it from the FACEIT Match room page. The option to do so will become available in the middle of the page and everyone on your team will be able to see the amount of pauses remaining. You will not be able to see your opponent's remaining pauses.

Once the match is paused, both teams will be able to see a timer displaying the remaining time left of the pause as well as who the pause belongs to. After the game has been paused for 10 seconds, you will be able to unpause it early at any time.

When a team pauses the game, the "Paused" state will be displayed as shown below.

If you want to resume the game early, you can click the “Resume” button in the same location on the match room page. Alternatively, you can wait out the entire pause timer and it will auto resume when the time runs out. Once a team resumes the game, a 5-second timer will appear beneath the "Paused" information. When the timer expires, the game will continue.

If you have used up all available pauses during a map, you will get those pauses back in the following map. You might need to refresh your match room page before being able to pause again on the next map.
